Latest Travellers' Con: Tile and Roof Work The way they operate is for one to get the resident to cross the road to inspect the roof, and behind the resident's back the other con-man puts up a ladder and climbs onto the roof, causing damage. They then claim to have found this damage already there and offer to repair it at (typically) £250 cost.
The van is an unmarked white or blue model with ladders on the back. No further details are yet available, but will be added here as and when they are discovered.
