Bus Shelter Gets New Home
The 'bus shelter in Pattens Lane, at the stop opposite the doctor's surgery, has finally been re-sited.
This shelter was removed some months ago, as it was causing problems for a resident whose drive was being partly blocked, causing a road hazard. The problem then arose concerning where to re-site it.
After a lot of liaison work by ward councillor Nick Brice, a new site was found for the shelter a little way along the road, conveniently just outside the Pattens Place bungalows which will make life a bit easier for the elderly folk living in those bungalows.
An additional 'bus stop is being provided, although it wasn't actually installed until late April, its use was checked on the first day after the shelter's re-positioning by Cllr Brice. Not only were there passengers already waiting there, but the 'bus stopped on that very first morning the shelter was in place—an impressive achievement!
