Community Safety Statistics Now AvailableOver a period of a few days, four months-worth of statistics have arrived from the council's Safer Communities Team, covering the period from May to August 2007. These figures are being presented in an easy-to-digest table format, on the Community Safety page of the Ward Issues section of this website.
These figures will be coming to us every month from now on, so the table will be updated on that basis.
It has to be pointed out that these are of course reported incidents, including (I believe) those encountered by Police and Wardens while on patrol. There aren't very many in our ward these days, which is not all surprising after all the efforts we, our Wardens and the Police have been putting in during the past several years. This was recently stepped-up with the appointment of a full-time Neighbourhood PC and a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) whose presence has definitely been felt.
