Council Tax levels in Unitary Authorities
The table below shows the level of Band D Council Tax set for each Unitary Authority (including Medway, highlighted in bold text) in recent years, by alphabetical listing of Authority names. This information comes from the official government listing, and includes non-parish precepts.
The table shows that we have been just about the lowest in the country (apart from the Scilly Isles!) reflecting the Conservative Administration's financial prudence, as has been consistently echoed by independent auditors and inspectors:
